Blatant job discrimination followed my 1986 application for high school principal in Minnesota's north country and left me no choice but to sue the school district in Federal District Court for its violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. In 1997, retaliation after winning that lawsuit led me back into federal court. Plaintiff Blues is the true story of those events and my fifteen years as a plaintiff. Although my personal story of sex discrimination, retaliation, and litigation ends with the May 2007 publication of Plaintiff Blues, my interest and commitment to civil rights issues continues. This website is designed to expand on the lessons I learned throughout this process and to engage in a dialogue with others who have similar interests or experiences.
