The book Myths of Educational Choice was written in 1990-92 and published in 1993. It was written in response to Minnesota’s new public school choice options - Charter schools, Post Secondary Enrollment Options and Open Enrollment. These programs were among the very first in the nation to break from traditional, residential public school programs. The book identified many questions and concerns about these choice programs. With the 2017 Trump administration and the appointment of Betsy DeVos as Education Secretary, these same questions and concerns are more relevant than ever. The book itself is long out of print, so the text has been scanned and digitized to make it available here. Apologies for any typos that appear from the digitizing process. |
